28th OCT - 12th NOV 2025

Rishikesh, India.

Thank you for your expression of interest in exploring the Panchakarma retreat in Rishikesh, India.

Known as a place for ancient Ayurvedic therapies, serene surroundings, and holistic wellness experiences, this retreat offers a unique opportunity to delve into the rich cultural heritage of India while nurturing your body, mind, and spirit.

Experience the ancient wisdom of Panchakarma, a holistic wellness package designed to enhance your health and vitality by cleansing the body, clearing the mind, and harmonising the consciousness within you.

What is Panchakarma?

  • The objective of the Panchakarma wellness package is to promote a feeling of health and vitality by means of cleansing the body, clearing the mind and allowing the consciousness to take its rightful place in your life. The ‘five actions’ (Pancha – karma) helps to detoxify the body and strengthen the immune system, restore balance and well-being using the traditional five-fold therapy.

  • Following an Ayurvedic consultation with the Vaidya, which is designed to determine the patient’s state of health and well-being, to discover any areas of concern, to investigate and determine the patient’s dosha - (Kapha, Pitta or Vata or a combination of two or even all three) a personalised treatment plan is devised for the period of your stay.

  • Panchakarma treatments place a heavy emphasis on massage of the body using specially prescribed dosha specific oils – Abhyanga massage is not invasive and consists of long fluid strokes to encourage the expulsion of toxins from the body. The massage is followed by a ‘steam bath’ to encourage the pores of the skin to open and to release toxins.

  • Shirodhara – the drizzling of warm oil on to the forehead and crown promotes complete relaxation with the emphasis not being solely on the external, but also to encourage the mind to ‘let go’.

  • An internal cleansing program will be discussed during consultation and can consist of Virechana (purgation by laxative) and Basti (herbal decoction or oil enemas) depending on the needs of the patient. Cleansing of the alimentary canal – from the upper gastro system through to the lower intestines has the added bonus of detoxifying the organs and restoring the functions of the body to optimal efficiency.

  • Cleansing of the sense organs includes Nasyam to clean the nasal tubes and sinuses, Netra Tarpan to clean the eyes, Karna Poorna for the ears and Kawal Gandoosh for the tongue. Initially there may be some resistance from the body to the ‘new healthy regime’ but after a few days of light, freshly prepared Ayurvedic meals, a good supply of clean pure water and plenty of rest and a little light exercise the body begins to participate and relish in the healing process.

Debbie Smith

(Facilitator)

I am a naturopath, ayurvedic practitioner, sattva yoga teacher, and kriya breathwork teacher to name just a few things. I am thrilled to be part of this transformative Panchakarma Retreat in Rishikesh, India.

With a deep passion for India and personal experience in Rishikesh and Panchakarma, I am committed to creating a profoundly enriching and rejuvenating experience for each of you.

My journey into the world of holistic healing began years ago when I discovered the profound wisdom and healing power of Ayurveda. This ancient science resonated with me on a soul level, leading me to delve deeper into its principles and practices. As a naturopath, I have dedicated my life to helping people achieve optimal health and vitality by harmonising the body, mind, and spirit.

My love for yoga and meditation has always been there, and I embarked on a journey to become a certified sattva yoga teacher. Sattva yoga embodies a holistic, integrated approach to yoga, encompassing asanas (postures), pranayama (breathwork), meditation, and mantra chanting. It is a path of self-discovery, transformation, and inner awakening.

Through my teaching, I strive to create a nurturing space where you can connect with your true essence and experience the profound benefits of these ancient practices.

I am also a trained kriya breathwork teacher. Kriya breathwork is a powerful technique that combines specific breathwork patterns with meditation to facilitate deep healing, release emotional blockages, and awaken higher states of consciousness. It is a profound tool for self-exploration and inner transformation, and I am honoured to share this practice with you during our retreat.

India has always held a special place in my heart. I have spent time recently exploring the magical city of Rishikesh, immersing myself in its spiritual energy, and experiencing the transformative power of Panchakarma firsthand. My personal experiences have deepened my understanding of the local culture, traditions, and healing practices, and I am excited to share this knowledge with you.

As your guide and facilitator throughout this retreat, my utmost priority is your well-being and transformation. I will be there to support and guide you every step of the way, ensuring that your journey is not only deeply healing but also culturally enriching. My intention is to create a safe and nurturing space where you can let go, rejuvenate, and align with your true self.

If you have any questions, concerns, please feel free to reach out to me. I am here to assist you in any way I can. I am truly honoured to be part of your journey to India, and I look forward to welcoming you with open arms to this transformative Panchakarma Retreat.

With love and light,

Debbie xo
